About
In 2002, when the land next door to Sandy Morell's home in North Haven came on the market for sale, she instinctively thought, "I can sell that". So off she went to get her real estate license! Sandy quickly received offers on the land, and a whole new career was born.
A part and full time North Haven resident for 30 years, Sandy possesses an intimate knowledge of the area, its history and culture. She finds this familiarity to be invaluable in servicing her buyers and sellers, who appreciate the insight and professionalism she brings to their real estate experience.
Sandy's previous background in the business and non-profit arenas was as diversified and interesting as her real estate career is today. She worked for Burberrys of London as New York Showroom Manager during the company's initial campaign to capture the American market. Later, she became an executive for a designer/importer of menswear textiles. After moving permanently to North Haven, Sandy joined Guild Hall as Assistant to the Executive Director, then later served as Director of Special Events and Acting Executive Director. Remaining in the non-profit world, she for several years helped launch and administrate the Itzhak Perlman Music Program, a summer music program for musically-gifted students which continues today on Shelter Island. Sandy later formed her own Special Events and Consulting firm, where she sp,earheaded fundraising events for non-profit groups in the area including Guild Hall, the Bay Street Theater, and The Retreat.
A strong sense of community is in Sandy's heart, and part of her everyday life. In the past, she served for nine years on the Board of Directors of The Retreat, an East Hampton organization that offers shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence and their families; and for five years was on the Board of the East End Special Players, a learning-challenged theater troupe.
Sandy enjoys dancing, long walks, visiting with family and friends, traveling, and watching sunsets over Noyac Bay. Also atop her list of passions is the ever-exciting and intriguing challenge of finding the perfect home for her customers, and the equally intricate task of successfully marketing and selling wonderful Hampton properties.
