5 Southampton Homes That'll Make You a Neighbor to Bobby Axelrod of 'Billions'

It should be no surprise that the Showtime hit “Billions” includes a lot of action in the Hamptons. In the very first episode, billionaire hedge-fund manager Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis, buys a house on Southampton’s elite Meadow Lane for $63 million, beginning three seasons of drama between Axelrod and U.S Attorney Chuck Rhoades, played by Paul Giamatti.

With season four of “Billions” premiering this Sunday, we decided to take a look at Axelrod’s home on the famous Meadow Lane in Southampton — also known as “Billionaire’s Lane” — and see what else is available for sale and rent.

The actual home used in “Billions,” located at 1610 Meadow Lane, isn’t currently for sale. The current owners paid $21 million in 2004 for the 9-acre parcel, then built the current house on it. The home briefly appeared on the rental market in 2012, asking a whopping $275,000 for just the month of July.

But even though it isn’t for sale, let’s put its fictional $63 million price into context. For $10 million less, you could get a 9-bedroom, 12.5-bathroom estate on Meadow Lane with nearly 11,000 square feet of space. That isn’t quite as big as Axelrod’s home, which boasts 12 bedrooms, 6 baths and more than 16,000 square feet of space.

There are plenty of other chances to become Axelrod’s neighbor. As of this week, 10 homes are for sale on Meadow Lane in Southampton, with a median asking price of $37.5 million — $25.5 million lower than what Axelrod paid in the show.

You don’t even have to buy a home to get a taste of life on Billionaire’s Lane. Currently there are nine summer rentals available in Axelrod’s vicinity, including the well-known White Caps house, which is available for the full summer for $450,000.
