To our eyes, it seems more Southern California than Suffolk County. To start, there’s the property’s oceanfront position, running along 135 feet of Atlantic sand. That means spectacular perspectives from the living room, master bedroom, and back deck. Even the kitchen has water views, so you could gaze out at the ocean while perfecting your ceviche recipe.
The wood exterior of the house echoes the classic shingle style of the Hamptons, but features the unmistakably clean, modern lines that are a hallmark of architect Robert Young. The interiors contrast white and black accents with natural wood paneling and the huge, nearly full-wall windows and sliding glass doors give the rooms an airy, laid-back feel. No doubt part of the reason the home gives off such a California vibe is its easy blending of indoor and outdoor space. At least, for $21 million, it’d better not.
